Don't talk about the 40.

Clearly something has gone amiss in Swansea. Since bursting through the 40 point mark a few weeks ago, Michael Laudrup has seen his side limp to 3 straight defeats.

Even the victory against Newcastle was harsh on the visitors, with Alan Pardew's outfit bossing the 2nd half almost in it's entirety. But the 3 games that followed brought nothing of the luck that was present that day, with losses in a run that shows signs of mirroring the Rodgers' team of last year.

That's not to say this is a derogatory post. No matter what happens between now and the end of the season; provided we do indeed survive, this will go down as the greatest season in our history.

The International football calendar is a farce!

Not a long post, and not a particularly thought-provoking one today. It's something many football fans will have pondered at some point and many more will in future.

For the life of me, I can't work out why we play international football during the season. There is probably some far-out logic applied to the mundane meet-up of 30 players somewhere halfway across the globe, for a few days of bickering and point-scoring before returning to the motherland for the bread and butter of the league, I just can't put my finger on it!

Swansea City can't be Arse-d

Going into this weekend's game against The Gunners at the Liberty, there should be an eager sense of excitement. The city should be buzzing.

Instead, there is a relaxed, almost nonchalant atmosphere around the city. Arsenal are playing here, yet there's more talk in the city about what's going on in the Millennium Stadium 40 miles east.

That's no disrespect to Swansea. If anything, it's apathy caused by the success.

Neil Taylor closes in on shock early return!!

Michael Laudrup today unveiled the news that Neil Taylor is racing back to fitness, probably in time for the end of the campaign.

When Swansea's Welsh International left back shattered his ankle in an innocuous challenge against Sunderland at the start of the season, he was immediately ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

Swans scoop double prize from Premier League managers

Not content with the Capital One Cup, a subsequent place in next year's Europa League and Premier League survival, Swansea City have added yet another feather to the cap today with the news that manager Michael Laudrup and striking sensation Michu have won their respective categories in the LMA awards.

Voted by the men who know the game better than any others as 'Manager of the season' and 'Signing of the season' respectively, the pair can be proud of the last 7 months.
